Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

Since its inception MAYURESH HOSPITAL boasts of a very good plastic and hand surgery unit consisting of trained plastic and hand surgeons. The Department is involved in treating complex injuries both upper and lower limb resulting from road traffic and industrial accidents. We deal with injuries that result in complex open wounds which are covered early with skin grafts, flaps and other reconstructive procedures. Some of these surgeries are limb saving and also prevents infection because of the early coverage. We also treat complex vascular injuries of the limbs which are both life and limb threatening thus saving many lives and limbs through micro vascular surgeries. Our hand surgery division deals with hand fractures, nerve and tendon injuries and complex crush injuries of the hand. One of our hand surgeon is trained in Japan for treating brachial plexus injuries the department has saved over the years many hands and fingers by the way of re- implantation (by reattaching fingers, hand and arm) we also conduct many cosmetic surgery procedures like liposuction and abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), breast augmentation and reduction and rhinoplasty The department in consonance with physiotherapy has a state of art post operative therapy programme for hands.
